In the end, the price tag was worth the accessibility to the freeway, grocery stores, etc.; and it is within a 15-minute drive to Jay’s work, as well as, to my school/ clinic. While it would have been great to live closer (option #3), it wasn’t worth our peace of mind knowing we were harboring a fugitive (Reesie). Unlike option #3, our new place is very pet-friendly which made our decision rather easy. Plus, as a move-in gift we received toilet paper, chocolate, and doggy treats – you know, the necessities. Ha!
As you can see, Jay & Reesie wasted no time making themselves at home. A great thing because this is home for the next few years.
Now that all of the boxes have been unpacked and most things have been put away it’s starting to feel like home too. Every day we find new things to love about our place and the area. Like, we don’t have to leave our building to go to the gym; we don’t share a bedroom wall with crazy neighbors; the library is just around the corner; and there’s a Chick-Fil-A in our city (!!!). I think we’re going to enjoy living here!
