Sensory overload is the only way I can describe how I felt as we made our way down the gravel driveway towards the cottage for the first time. Swoon. It was love at first sight. The cottage was so charming; it’s as if it was plucked directly from a painting.
Waiting for us in the kitchen was a welcome basket, from Kathleen & Tony, that was filled with Irish brown bread (we learned later), butter, jam, tea, and wine. It was such a thoughtful gift & we enjoyed every drop & crumb of it.

The cottage sits on quite a bit of land and it was just asking to be explored. Once we had finished unpacking we took the path down the hill and past the barn to the water’s edge. The tide was out, but even then, it was still so beautiful.
Low tide on the cove.
This is the best seat in (out?) the house. The girls & I spent some of my favorite nights in Ireland on this deck. Some mornings when no one else was awake I’d sneak out to sit on the deck & just soak up all the beauty & peacefulness around me.

The view was amazing. I loved waking up in the morning and just stare out the window *sigh*
