Crossing the Pond

Thanks to mid-day construction on Staten Island, the 2 hour drive from Philly to the JFK airport turned into 4 hours. I was freaking out on the inside that we weren’t going to make our flight. To make matters worse, there was a little mishap at security, which left us with just enough time to catch our breath, grab some snacks, jailbreak a cell phone, and check into FB before boarding the plane.

The flight to Dublin was incredibly smooth. Big props to the Aer Lingus pilot because I don’t think my psyche could handle another rough flight.

Despite our best efforts, the four of us didn’t sleep a wink. Our excitement was so palpable. By the time we landed in Dublin, we were all visibly exhausted. Being the troopers that we are, we man-handled our luggage off the carousel, nearly withdrew all the money in the nearest ATM, and purchased a new sim card with unlimited data (4 Girls. A foreign country. MUST.HAVE.GoogleMaps). We accomplished all this before 6AM! Then we made haste to the Hertz counter to pick up our rental car and that’s when the real fun began. (Cue ominous music.)

Lol, I need to get travel tips from you if I ever go outside the US or have you travel with me. I didn’t know you would need to purchase a Sim card for the phone because I would definitely get lost! Everything seemed like it’s gong well so far except for the traffic. I hope the ominous music is the cue for only a small bump in your adventure :p
