Despite harsh winters & humid summers, East coast living suits my little family. Life on the east coast would be perfect if it weren’t for the distance separating us from our family & friends. Since moving from California six years ago, we’ve only had a handful of visitors for short periods of time and we’ve returned to California even less than that.
The times we do spend with our loved ones is few & far between, but it’s always so wonderful.
This year we were lucky to have my mom with us in Philadelphia for the holidays. Being as wonderful as she is, she agreed to furbaby-sit Reesie while Jay & I were off in the Caribbean. Please don’t feel bad for her – she loves spending time with her “grandbaby.” And once we returned from the land of sea & sun, we spent every moment with her. Probably more than she wanted.
No matter how many times I’ve had to say, “until next time” to my mom, it never, ever gets easier. I wish life were different and we could live closer to each other, but alas, it’s just not possible right now. Someday it will be. Until then, I will continue to cherish every moment I’m able to spend with her.
