Stacy’s visit came as a complete surprise to me and so I didn’t have a chance to make an itinerary filled with things to see, eat, or do. Of course, being the great friend that she is, she kept insisting that “hanging out” with me was all she wanted to do. Sweet, right? I let her think I was on board with that plan, but it’s not every day that my very best friend travels from California to the east coast, so with a little scheming of my own I decided (& Jay agreed) that we should pack a bag & head to New York City for a few days.
For Part II of my grand scheme, the part I like to call, “Operation Santa Don’t Be Late” – I decided to give Stacy an early Christmas present. For those of you who don’t know me, I am (sadly) notorious for sending gifts a little very late. I won’t bore you with the details, but please understand that a gift received on-time would be a major success. A gift received early? Well, that requires a miracle. What did we give her, you ask?
First row, front mezzanine tickets to Wicked on Broadway & quality time with her favorite people!
Stacy wanted to see Wicked when it passed through Los Angeles, but never got around to it. Our little weekend getaway to the city provided the perfect opportunity to catch the show on Broadway.
To finish off the evening, we went to Ruby Foo’s for sushi – the food of choice when we’re together.
Needless to say, Wicked was fabulous! Jay & I thought it was just as good as when we watched it the first time in 2005 and Stacy loved it just as much as we did. I’d say her Christmas present was a success!
